303 Nepalis leave Ukraine following Russian invasion

KATHMANDU: A total of 303 Nepali nationals have fled Ukraine for safe places since the Russian aggression began.

According to Sewa Lamsal, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a total of 303 Nepalis have left Ukraine as of Tuesday evening.

Out of 303 people, the most of Nepalis (232) have reached Poland, 39 in Slovakia, 23 in Romania and nine in Hungary, informed Lamsal.

According to the Nepali Embassy in Germany, three Nepalis trapped in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv have also escaped safely.

However, the figure of Nepalis who left Ukraine might be larger than this.

Nepali people are leaving for safer places after Russia carried a lethal attack in the eastern part of Ukraine including the capital city Kyiv.
