NC Prez Deuba nominates three more leaders to CWC

Gurung, Poudel and Shahi have been made central members today



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has nominated three more leaders to the party’s Central Working Committee (CWC) on Sunday. He had nominated 10 leaders as central members on Saturday.

Kalyan Gurung, Pradip Poudel and Jeevan Bahadur Shahi have been inducted to the CWC on Sunday. NC president has prerogative to nominate 33 members to the CWC.

The three leaders nominated today vied for different positions in the party’s recently held 14th general convention and were defeated. Gurung was the candidate for the post of NC president, Poudel for the post of general secretary and Shahi for the post of joint general secretary.

NC President Deuba nominated senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, Bimalendra Nidhi, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, Prakash Man Singh, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Dr. Narayan Khadka, Sujata Koirala, Uma Regmi and Min Bahadur Bishwakarma to the CWC on Saturday.

The party’s recently held 14th general convention elected 134 CWC members, including 14 office-bearers, of the total 167-member CWC.
