Nepal Bar continues its protest against Chief Justice Rana



KATHMANDU: Nepal Bar Association (NBA) officials and legal practitioners associated to it have continued their protest demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.

Officials and lawyers of Nepal Bar Association and Supreme Court Bar Association also staged agitation at the Supreme Court premises on Sunday.

Speaking to media persons during the protest, NBA President Chandeshwar Shrestha said that they have raised their voice to eliminate the distortion and inconsistency of the judiciary.

He said that the judiciary should administer justice in an independent, fair, clean and fearless manner and for that Chief Justice Rana’s resignation is a must.

Chairman Shrestha also demanded the implementation of justice Hari Krishna Karki led commission’s report for judicial reform.

“Our agitation is for the independent, fair, clean and fearless judiciary that restore the faith of people and upward the glory of judiciary,” he said, adding, “To restore the glory and credibility of judiciary the exit of corruption accused people is a must.Chief Justice Rana should resign for the same.”

NBA President Shrestha informed that Nepal Bar would continue its protest unless the Chief Justice resign.
