MoHA warns to sue medical colleges for levying undue amount from students

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has sent a letter to the District Administration Offices urging them to take action against the medical colleges taking undue amount from the students.

According to the Ministry sources, MoHa has written to Chief District Officers of 12 districts, on Sunday, instructing them to take action against the medical colleges which are charging extra fees from the students studying MBBS under medical education.

The ministry has directed the district administration offices in Kathmandu, Lalitpur,Bhaktapur, Kaski,  Chitwan,  Morang, Sunsari, Dhanusha, Parsa, Rupandehi, Banke and Jumla to take action.

The students had been complaining that various medical colleges had demanded extra fees and threatened not to allow them to study if they did not pay the fees.

Ministry has also handed over the letter to the Prime Minister’s Office and the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Education and the Medical Education Commission.
