Janamat Party agrees to join ruling coalition with NC

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) and Dr. CK Raut-led Janamat Party have agreed to cooperate to go together in the coalition for the new government.

According to NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi, Janamat Party Chairman Dr. Raut agreed to join the ruling coalition during his meeting with Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

PM Deuba and Dr. Raut held a meeting at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday.

“NC and Janamat Party agreed to cooperate with ruling coalition both at federal and provincial government,” NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi wrote on Twitter after today’s meeting.

Earlier, Nidhi and Raut had a meeting on Wednesday.

According to sources, Dr. Raut sought the leadership of the Madhes government as part of power sharing in the coalition.
