Flying drones around TIA punishable



KATHMANDU: Flying drones around the Tribhuvan International Airport has been banned.

Flying drones within five kilometers of the Tribhuvan International Airport surroundings is punishable as per the laws, according to a notice issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN). It cited aviation safety.

Flying drones in TIA vicinity poses serious risks to aviation safety, and anyone involved in such activities is subjected to stern action, said the CAAN.

Although the Drone related Rules, 2021 has prohibited flying drones around airports, the rules are found to have been violated , said the CAAN.
