NEPSE gains nominal 1.15 points, closes at 2,196.25

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained a nominal 1.15 points and closed at 2,196.25 on Monday. The index registered a gain of 0.05 percent. The index had gained 54.58 points yesterday.

The index that opened at 2,205.77 points made an intraday low of 2,183.22 and an intraday high of 2,224.48 before closing at 2,196.25 points.

A total of 10,518,712 units of shares of 217 companies traded via 67,205 transactions, resulting in daily turnover of Rs 4.67 billion. Sunday’s trading turnover was Rs 4.60 billion.

The shares of Shivan Cemenets Limited recorded the highest turnover while the shares of Hydorelectricity Investment and Development Company traded the most.

Butwal Power Company Limited emerged as the highest gainer for the day with 6.95 percent while Swabhimaan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the highest loser, losing 5.21 percent.

Only five sector indices closed green, “Trading” gained the highest 3.54 percent while “Hotel and Tourism” lost the highest 2 percent.
