UML demonstrates against rising inflation, graft in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The main opposition CPN-UML has demonstrated against inflation and corruption in Basantpur, Kathmandu, on Monday.

The UML held rallies in different places of the capital against rising prices of essential commodities and corruption, among other issues of public importance in the country.

According to Krishna Gopal Shrestha of the Demonstration Organizing Committee, the rallies would merge at Basantpur in the afternoon and pass through the inner cities of Pafal, Naradevi, Bangemudha, Asan, Bhotahiti and reach Shanti Batika before turning into a corner meeting.

Some were seen carrying gas cylinders, some chanted slogans against the government, among other forms of protest, in the demonstration.
