NRB preparing to bring monetary policy in first week of new fiscal



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is preparing to bring the monetary policy of the coming Fiscal Year 2022/23 within the third week of July.

Speaking at the inaugural function of Banknote Sorting and Briquetting System at Nepal Rastra Bank Pokhara Regional Office on Friday, Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari said that preparations are underway to bring monetary policy within the third week of July (first week of Shrawn).

“We are preparing to bring monetary policy within the first week of July,” he said, adding, “We are trying to issue it a little faster than last years and not delay it more than the third week.”

Meanwhile, the governor is also holding discussions with Chief Executive Officers of commercial banks to seek suggestions on monetary policy.
