Collaborative forests nurture 350,000 saplings for plantation



KAPILVASTU: Three collaborative forests in Kapilvastu have nurtured 350,000 saplings with different species.

Kapilvastu collaborative forest, Shivaraj collaborative forest and Gautam Buddha collaborative forest have produced plants of different species and are distributing them for plantation.

Division Forest Office Chief Dadhi Lal Kandel shared that a plan has been made to distribute saplings for plantation in forest-encroached area.

He further informed that all collaborative and division forests are nurturing saplings in Kapilvastu’s Shivaraj municipality, Maharajgunj municipality, Krishnanagar municipality and Bijayanagar rural municipality for plantation.

The campaign has been put in place to increase greenery and expand forest area, especially in the forest-intruded region.

Chairperson of Kapilvastu collaborative forest Ganesh Tiwari said saplings of fruits of different species will be distributed keeping the consumers at the centre.

Kapilvastu collaborative forest has produced 130,000 saplings. Assistant Forest Officer Ezaz Ansari informed saplings were nurtured in different nurseries of Maharajgunj municipality.

Likewise, Shivaraj collaborative forest is nurturing 120,000 saplings while Gautam Buddha forest is producing 110,000 plants this year.
