Federation of Contractors hails budget for promoting export



KATHMANDU: The Federation of Contractors Association of Nepal has expressed confidence that the budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 would help boost the export sector.

Issuing a press release on Tuesday, the Federation that was established with the slogan ‘Export for Prosperity’ welcomed the budget. “The budget has come to address the concerns of import-export enterprises – that has remained the main pillar of Nepal’s economy”, the Federation noted.

Federation chairperson Ram Bahadur Gurung termed the upcoming year’s budget positive as it has incorporated the Federation’s recommendations in the fiscal policy.

Among the positive affairs, the budget envisaged include the construction of an international exhibition center, organizing an international fair, providing grants up to 8 percent on cement, processed water, steel, footwear, and clinker, and improving standards of Nepal-based laboratory to make export reliable.
