APF team recovers 30 kg cannabis from Birgunj



BIRGUNJ: A team deployed from the Armed Police Force Chhinnamasta Bahini in Mahottari has recovered 30.1 kg cannabis from Birgunj in Parsa district.

According to DIG Dhani Ganesh Thadamagar, the cannabis was recovered during a search operation at Rapatgunj Khadak section of Birgunj Metropolitan City at 9.45 pm Thursday night.

A four-member squad under the command of Armed Police Constable Baristha Patel and a seven-member team under the command of DIG Pandav Prasad Mainali recovered the large amount of cannabis from Birgunj.

DIG Thadamagar informed that the accused fled leaving the vehicle without number plate after noticing the police team.

The police recovered 16 kg cannabis from a bag and 14.1 from another bag hidden at the trunk of the vehicle.

Further investigation is underway, the police said.
