PM Deuba embarks on a three-day official visit to India (with schedule)



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has left for New Delhi on a three-day official visit to southern neighbor India, at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This is Prime Minister Deuba’s first official visit since becoming Prime Minister for the fifth time.

The 50-member delegation led by Prime Minister Deuba left for New Delhi via a 1:25 pm regular flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation and is scheduled to return home from the same airlines on April 3 at 6:10 pm. Before returning home, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Varanasi, India, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation includes PM Deuba’s spouse Arzu Rana Deuba, Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka and other ministers, secretaries and officials. The visiting team consists of about 50 participants including high government officials, industrialists and media persons.

During the visit, Prime Minister Deuba is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu. Likewise, delegation-level talks will be held with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad House on March 2.

In addition, Indian Prime Minister Modi will host a luncheon in honor of Prime Minister Deuba and his delegation.

Likewise, the Indian External Affairs Minister and National Security Adviser to the Government of India will call on Prime Minister Deuba, the ministry said.

Prime Minister Deuba is scheduled to address a gathering of businessmen in New Delhi.
