KATHMANDU: Petroleum entrepreneurs have upped the ante demanding increase in the transportation fee and dealer commission.
To pile pressure on the government to get their demands fulfilled, they have stopped transporting gas, diesel, petrol and aviation fuel since early morning today.
Petroleum entrepreneurs have exerted pressure on the government to hike dealer commission and transportation fee, informed Binit Mani Upadhyaya, the Spokesperson of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the state oil monopoly.
“The entrepreneurs have halted transportation of petroleum products since early morning today demanding adjustment in the transportation fare after the government hiked the prices of petroleum products.
NOC has called the agitating entrepreneurs to come for a dialogue but the latter have rejected to join the meeting, said Upadhyaya.
He further said the discussions are underway to increase the transportation fare.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Nepal Petroleum Transport Entrepreneurs has warned that it will not resume transportation until its demands are fulfilled.
NOC Spokesperson Upadhyaya said the government will address the demands raised by the entrepreneurs.
