I am like that Bengali Nawab whose commanders betrayed him: UML Chair Oli (With video)

KATHMANDU: UML Chairman KP Oli has said that his condition is similar to that of a Bengali Nawab whose commanders sold themselves to the enemies.

Stating that Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and CPN-Unified Socialist Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal should have been his commanders working to save the erstwhile Nepal Communist Party’s government, he attributed the collapse of the communist government to the two leaders’ action of selling themselves to others, referring to the Nepali Congress.

Addressing a gathering of returnee migrant workers Friday, he compared his scenario with the affairs of British seizure of Bengal. “The British bought Bengali Nawab’s commanders, who should have protected the Bengal at the time. However, when the commanders sold themselves out, the British took charge of Bengal. My situation is similar to the Nawab,” UML Chair Oli said.

He claimed reactionary forces at home and abroad plotted to ensure his government’s downfall. He added that various forces conspired to ensure the UML-led government’s downfall as they were jealous of the rapid development carried out in the country by his party and government.

He went on to say if one compromised with his/her political integrity then they could remain in power forever.

On the occasion, he urged returnee migrants to make a commitment to develop the nation. He claimed that the UML was the only party that would eventually develop the country.
