Maoist Chair Prachanda responds to conclusions of group discussions on political dossier



KATHMANDU: Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has started to address various points and suggestions floated by group leaders’ at the party’s 8th General convention Friday.

Chair Prachanda had tabled a political dossier at the convention and delegates deliberated on the document in 25 different groups for the past two days.

Team leaders of the groups concluded presenting summary of discussions Thursday.

Chair Prachanda is addressing key concerns arising from group discussions on the report Friday.

There was both support and dissent on the Maoist chair’s in-depth political report that included issues ranging from climate change to linking youths to modes of production within the country.

The Maoist chair also took a strong stance against the passage of United States grant assistance Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) from Nepal’s parliament in its current form and saw its passage only after amending the MCC Compact.

The Maoist’s 8th General Convention kicked off on Sunday and is likely to continue till Saturday if process to elected new leadership does not complete by Friday.
