Unified Socialist takes initiative to lead Sudurpaschhim Province government



KAILALI: The Unified Socialist has taken the initiative to lead the Sudurpaschhim Provincial government.

The party has claimed that it is the largest party in the state.

A meeting of the party’s state committee held in Dhangadhi on October 28 decided to request the Center to submit a claim to the state government.

The meeting, chaired by state president Bikram Shahi, decided to request the Center to lead the government as the largest party, said state secretary Dinesh Chandra Subedi.

The party has 14 MPs in the State Assembly.

Likewise, the Maoist Center has 13 MPs, Nepali Congress 12, UML 11 (including the Speaker), and one each from the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and the Democratic Socialist Party.

At present, the state government is led by the Maoist Center.
