PM lauds goodwill solidarity expressed in UK



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that he was encouraged by the goodwill and solidarity expressed in the UK Parliament towards Nepal on various occasions.

“It is a warm reminder that Nepal had great friends in difficult times,” he said.

Prime Minister Deuba said so addressing a welcome reception organized in his honour by All Party Parliamentary Group for Nepal and UK-Nepal Trade and Investment Forum in London, according to the Nepali Embassy in London.

Birendra Sharma, MP Chair of All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Nepal, Vice Chair of APPG and President of UK Nepal Trade and Investment Forum Lord Sheikh, Lord Lancaster and Catherine West MP also spoke at the programme.

Earlier, Lord Sheikh, Lord Paul, Chairman of Britain-Nepal Society and Col. Nick Hinton, Chairman of Britain-Nepal NGO Network paid courtesy calls on the Prime Minister.

Office bearers of NRNA and other members of Nepali community also met the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister is leading the Nepali delegation to the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference underway in Glasgow, Scotland.
