JSP picks Chair Yadav as parliamentary party leader



KATHMANDU: Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav has been picked as the leader of the JSP parliamentary party (PP).

A JSP PP meeting held at its office in Singha Durbar Monday picked Yadav as its leader. As many as 21 out of 32 lawmakers were present in the meeting held under chairmanship of senior leader Mahindra Ray Yadav.

JSP Federal Council Chairman Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai proposed Yadav as the JSP PP leader. The proposal was seconded by the meeting’s chairperson.

Of late, Yadav faction of the party also received recognition as the official party from the Election Commission (EC). The process of electing PP leader began following EC recognition.
