Kiran Poudel elected President of National Youth Federation

KATHMANDU: Kiran Poudel has been elected as the president of the CPN-UML –affiliated National Youth Federation.

General Secretary Ramesh Acharya confirmed that Poudel was elected the president by the virtual central secretariat meeting of the federation held Monday.

Poudel succeeded the federation’s President Bachan Bahadur Singh, who crossed the 40 years age limit in the organization. The age limit for holding the office of the youth federation is 40 years.

Acharya added the central committee of the federation was intact with today’s meeting only picking Poudel as president, among other decisions taken. The federation has a central committee comprising 1,200 members.

Newly-elected President Poudel urged members to work for containing and preventing the COVID situation while also committing to hold a general convention after the crisis subsides.

Likewise, Amit Lama is picked federation’s Bagmati Province in-charge, Urmila Sunuwar the head of Women’s Department, Roshan Basnet the head of Central Publications Department and Anjana Adhikari the Province 1 in-charge.
