UML holding SC meeting today; likely to take action against 12 leaders

KATHMANDU: Chairman of ruling CPN-UML KP Oli has called a Standing Committee (SC) meeting today.

The meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar at 10 am will discuss current political issues.

Office Secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang said that the meeting would review the current political situation and take further decisions.

The SC meeting was supposed to be held on Sunday but was postponed citing lack of homework.

It may be noted that a previous UML SC meeting had sought clarification from 12 lawmakers who had gone against the decision of the party.

However, they have not furnished their clarification yet. Sources have said that the meeting is likely to expel 12 lawmakers for failing to furnish clarification within the given deadline.
