Chinese COVID-19 vaccine to be administered to people above 40



KATHMANDU: The government is preparing to inoculate the Chinese vaccine ‘Vero Cell’ to citizens between the ages of 40 and 59.

According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, preparations are on to administer the Chinese vaccine to citizens between the ages of 40 and 59 from the concerned hospitals.

The Ministry is also set to arrange different vaccine cards for those administering the Chinese vaccine.

The Chinese government has given 800,000 doses of vaccine to Nepal. The vaccines were brought to Nepal on March 29.

Gautam said that a decision on Chinese vaccination would be taken soon after consulting the Vaccination Advisory Committee.
