KAHMANDU: The Eighth General Convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) is underway in the Kathmandu Valley since Sunday.
General Convention representatives, who have been divided into 25 groups, have been presenting their comments on the political dossier floated by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Eleven groups submitted their comments on Wednesday and the remaining groups are presenting their comments on the political document today.
Chairman Prachanda will answer the questions once all the groups finish submitting their comments, according to the schedule.
On Monday, Chairman Prachanda had presented a political document titled ‘The Path to Socialism in the 21st Century’ on Monday, the first day of the closed session. Similarly, Standing Committee member Dev Gurung had submitted a statute document.
Those presenting group-wise comments on the dossier include Ram Narayan Bidari from the Advisory Board, Satyanarayan Bhagat from Province 2, Tank Rai from the Commission, Gayatri Gurung from Gandaki Province, Ajambar Kambang Rai and Harka Bahadur Nembang from Province 1, Manarishi Dhital from Migration Coordination Committee, Saral Sahyatri from Bagmati State, Geeta Paneru from the Central Department, Min Bahadur Kunwar from Sudurpashchim Province and Bimala KC from Karnali Province.
The conclusion of the group discussion was presented in the closed session from 1:15 pm on Wednesday. The delegates were divided into 25 groups to discuss the political document and draft statue from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning.
The closed session is resuming from 11 am today. The session which was scheduled to come to an end today is likely to be extended until Friday, according to leader Shakti Bahadur Basnet.
Once the chairman finishes giving answers to the questions raised by the groups, a 299-member central committee including the community-based inclusive cluster will be elected.
