Massive Sindhuli fire damages over Rs 50 million



SINDHULIMADHI: A huge fire that broke out at Kamalamai Municipality of Sindhuli on Tuesday morning has caused the damages worth more than 50 million rupees.

According to Sindhuli police, the fire broke out from Shah Iron and Electronic Hardware Store located near Ratmata turning of Kamalamai-6, Ratmata at around 9 am.

With the collective effort of the fire brigade, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and the locals, the fire was brought under control after 4 hours.

The police informed that the fire caused a loss of about Rs 50 million.

However, no exact details of the damage have been reported yet.

According to DSP Manoj Lama, the fire could have started due to the electric short circuit in the warehouse.

The crowd at the incident site had disrupted transportation in the BP highway for nearly four hours.

The highway is now open.
