Three new posts created in Nepal Police

KATHMANDU: Three new posts have been created in Nepal Police.

The government created the posts of senior sub-inspector (SSI), assistant head constable and senior head constable to boost the morale of low ranking personnel of Nepal Police.

A cabinet meeting held Monday approved the Home Ministry’s proposal to create the three new posts and accordingly amended the police regulations. The approved regulations will come into effect after the amended regulations are published in the Nepal Gazette.

With the newly created posts, the post of senior sub-inspector (SSI) would lie in between sub-inspector (SI) and Inspector. Likewise, assistant head constable and senior head constable would be accommodated in between new recruits and assistant sub-inspector (ASI).

It usually takes a long time for a SI to be promoted to Inspector, and new recruits to be promoted to constable.
