Last 32 Nepalis rescued from Afghanistan arrive in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The last lot of stranded Nepalis, 32 in number, has arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday morning.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sources, 32 Nepalis rescued from Afghanistan arrive at  Tribhuvan International Airport via Qatar. They were rescued through the efforts of the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, India.

They were flown to Qatar via Iran on Friday evening. They were brought to Kathmandu from Qatar on Saturday morning by a Nepal Airlines flight.

At the same time, the Ministry made it clear that there are no Nepalis left in Afghanistan now. Citizens of most countries have returned from Afghanistan since the Taliban seized power on August 15.
