Central security committee decides to beef up security at order points



KATHMANDU: The central security committee held a meeting on Friday and discussed entire gamut of national security.

The meeting led by Acting Prime Minister and Home Minister Balkrishna Khand was held at Home Ministry. The meeting decided to beef up security at border points to curb the illegal entry of people to Nepal. For the additional security, CCTVs would be installed and mandatory provision of bearing identity card put in place.

Similarly, there will be effective mobilization of immigration staffs and security agencies at border points. Moreover, the meeting decided to conduct coronavirus tests at entry point itself to control further spread. For this to happen, the medical equipments and human resources would be arranged.

In the meeting, chiefs of the security bodies briefed the Acting PM about the number of refugees from different countries including Afghan in Nepal.

Acting PM Khand stressed on further tightening security situation at border points and international airport so that foreign national would not enter Nepal. Security agencies’ chiefs, Home Ministry officials and others were present in the meeting.
