KATHMANDU: Rukum (East) has been declared a fully immunized district. Established as the youngest district of the country, Rukum (East) has been declared as the 61st fully immunized district.
The district was declared a fully immunized district by organizing a program in the premises of Sisne rural municipality by District Health Office and the District Immunization Coordination Committee on Wednesday after all children of the district got fully vaccinated.
Signing the commitment letter, Speaker of Lumbini Province, Purna Bahadur Gharti, declared the district a fully immunized zone.
According to the Health Office, Rukum (East), the district was declared a fully immunized district after full doses of vaccine were ensured to 1,300 children up to 15 months and 934 children from 16 to 23 months of age in the district.
