KATHMANDU: CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel has announced his candidacy for chairmanship at the party’s 10th general convention.
At a press meet held at Godhuli Foodland in Basundhara, Kathmandu, Monday, Pokhrel announced his candidacy for the post of party Chairman at the 10th general convention.
The 10th general convention of the CPN-UML is scheduled for November 26-29.
Stating that he became the general secretary twice and the party’s legislation doesn’t allow him to run for the third time, Pokhrel said he would contest for leadership now.
Incumbent UML Chair KP Oli has also hinted a re-run for the party leadership.
