1 killed, three missing in Darchula landslide

DARCHULA: A man has died and three others have gone missing in a landslide in Darchula district.

The deceased has been identified as Narasingh Mahara of Duhun rural municipality-1, Baspali, according to District Police Office, Darchula.

Mahara’s wife Kaushi Devi Mahara has gone missing in the landslide.

Similarly, Sher Singh Karki and Harka Sing Karki of Duhun rural municipality-3 have also gone missing.

The landslide had occurred due to incessant rains on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, the floods have washed away the Darchula-Tinkar motor road, two suspension bridges and one shop.

Police said they have deployed a rescue team to the incident site.
