Chinese officials arrive to build fast-track tunnel



KATHMANDU: Officials of the Chinese company assigned to construct the tunnel of the Kathmandu-Terai fast-track have arrived in Kathmandu.

The officials of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. that has signed a contract to build the Chhokredanda-Dhedrekhola tunnel under the first package arrived on Wednesday, informed the Nepal Army.

Spokesperson of the Nepal Army Santosh Ballav has informed that a team of 23 officials arrived yesterday and will stay in a 10-day quarantine before leaving for the site.

A team of officials of Chengda Engineering Corporation had arrived in Nepal on June 23 and is now working on the site.

The Kathmandu-Terai fast-track highway is being constructed under the management and supervision of the Nepal Army.
