Coronavirus infection increasing for four days



KATHMANDU: The Health Ministry recorded 2,892 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. It was a result after the PCR test conducted among 7,187 persons and antigen tests among 4,381 persons.

The infection rate stands at 26 %, the Ministry added. Ministry Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Poudel urged everyone to adopt safety measures, reasoning the risk was still high in the country.

The updates have shown that the number of coronavirus-infected ones has been increasing.

Compared to Tuesday’s update, the number of coronavirus infected ones is more by 256 on Wednesday.

Similarly, on Monday, there were only 2,444 cases and on Sunday 1920, the Ministry shared the information.

Forty-one people succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. In the same period, 3,597 people got recovery from coronavirus.

Currently, there are 33,561 infected persons. Among them, 30,544 are in home isolation.

Similarly, 3,017 infected ones are in institutional isolation, according to the Ministry.

The number of people losing lives to COVID-19 has reached 9,112 in Nepal. Seven districts still have coronavirus cases of over 500.
