Current political situation a threat to Republicanism: Madhav Nepal

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has reiterated his position of sticking to the politics of values.

Stating that the current situation is a threat to the political system, leader Nepal said that the system was in danger and that he had a big responsibility on his shoulders to save it.

“The system itself is in danger,” he said at an interaction in the capital on Wednesday.

Saying that he and other political party leaders are opposing what he said “Oli tendency and mindset” he said that such a tendency should end once and for all.

“We are fighting against the Oli approach,” he added.

Likewise, Chairman of the CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” said it was high time that all political parties remained united to end the Oli tendency and approach.

“The point now is that everyone needs to unite against such an arrogant attitude,” Prachanda said emphasizing the need for a united approach to overcome the ongoing “adverse situation”.

The alliance of opposition parties, he claimed, was formed to safeguard the achievements of the people and protect the constitution, and the system.

Claiming that the court would reinstate the parliament, Prachanda expressed confidence that Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba would be appointed prime minister.

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, meanwhile, alleged the government of playing the dirty politics of commission while procuring vaccines against coronavirus.
