HoR Dissolution: Govt attorneys and lawyers pleading on behalf of PM today



KATHMANDU: The government attorneys are pleading on the writ petition against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) on behalf of the government even today.

After the government attorneys deliver arguments for 55 minutes, Prime Minister’s lawyers will plead on the writ at the five-member Constitutional Bench led by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.

It is learnt that senior advocate Sushil Panta will plead on the writ on behalf of Prime Minister today.

Similarly, former attorney general Agni Kharel and senior Advocate Dr. Surendra Bhandari will deliver arguments on the writ petition.

Forty-five minutes has been allocated for Bhandari, sources have said. A total of seven hours has been allocated for Prime Minister’s lawyers.

Joint Attorney Generals Gopal Prasad Rijal, Sanjiv Raj Regmi, Lok Raj Parajuli, Khem Raj Gyawali, Uddhav Prasad Pudasaini and Deputy Attorney General Dasharath Pangeni will deliver arguments on the writ today.
