FNJ Panchthar Vice-chair dies of COVID-19



PANCHTHAR: Vice-chair of Federation of Nepali Journalists, Panchthar unit Yekraj Bhandari died of COVID-19.

He was undergoing treatment at the Birta City hospital in Birtamode of Jhapa.

The 52-year-old had been admitted to the hospital on May 14 and was put on ventilator support after his condition deteriorated, according to Nepal Press Union, Panchthar chair Jitendra Bhandari.

He was cremated at Hewaghat in Phidim-4 last night. A resident of Hilihang rural municipality-5 in the district, Bhandari was involved in the journalism and teaching profession since the past 15 years.

He is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters.
