NC should seek option to party’s upcoming general convention: NC senior leader Poudel

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the party should seek an alternative to its upcoming 14th General Convention reasoning that the party is at risk of being in a crisis constitutionally.

“The NC has shouldered the responsibility to save people from COVID-19, constitutional system that has been achieved from long struggle and the party itself from a crisis,” he said.

Democracy and the country’s future cannot be saved until NC survives, he argued.

Likewise, party spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma has said that it was misfortunate that COVID-19 infected people have died due to lack of oxygen, thanks to the irresponsibility of the government.

“NC jumped in to form a new government after President called for a new government following the failure of the incumbent government to win a trust vote,” he said.
