Former PM Dr. Bhattarai undergoes endocrine surgery at Bir Hospital on Friday



KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Federal Council of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has undergone a successful surgery of a neuro-endocrine tumor.

According to sources, a team of doctors under the leadership of Dr Subodh Adhikari carried out the surgery successfully at Bir Hospital on Friday.

Earlier, he was at a hospital in Delhi, India for checkups. After biopsy, DOTA NOC test, PET CT scan and other tests, the doctors had concluded that the tumor was not cancerous.

However, the doctors had advised Dr. Bhattarai to remove the tumor surgically at the earliest.
