JSP’s Thakur faction knocks EC door against Lumbini lawmakers dismissal

KATHMANDU: Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Chairman Mahantha Thakur’s faction has knocked the door of the Election Commission (EC) seeking action against dismissal of four lawmakers in Lumbini Province Assembly (PA).

Writing a letter to the EC on Friday, JSP Chairperson Thakur has said that the notice about dismissal of party lawmakers from the Lumbini PA based on an ‘unauthorized’ letter was wrong and should be corrected.

Leader Thakur has remarked that JSP’s executive council has not made any decisions in that effect.

Earlier, he had written to Lumbini province assembly and notified it about the party’s ‘authentic decision.’

The Upendra Yadav faction of JSP had requested the secretariat to remove four persons from the parliament citing they did not abide by the parliamentary party (PP) decisions of Lumbini province.

The secretariat had posted a notice of dismissal of the lawmakers Santosh Pandey, Vijay Yadav, Suman Sharma Rayamajhi and Kalpana Pandey Thursday.

According to a JSP source, Mahanta Thakur and Rajendra Mahato are also preparing to file a case in the court demanding to overturn the decision of the state assembly.
