KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has come down heavily on Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and Madhav Kumar Nepal for trying to create instability in the country.
He sniffed sarcasm over what he said their “repeated remarks” that the country was in a grave crisis.
“If the country reels under crisis by holding an election, then it is for sure that the country will see an election after two years,” PM Oli said at a program in Kathmandu, Tuesday.
Stating that CPN (Maoist Center) Dahal and UML senior leader Madhav Nepal were hell-bent on inviting crisis in the country themselves, PM Oli added, “In fact, they are not in favor of stability and development.”
On the occasion, he also reiterated the government’s commitment towards republicanism, freedom of the press and freedom of speech. PM Oli further said various development activities were being carried out by the government at breakneck speed.
He also said that the government was committed to press freedom but the press had to keep in mind the ethics of journalism. He encouraged the media to exercise freedom but within limits. He expressed government’s full commitment to the media and the country.
Moreover, the government is also making preparation to lay the foundation stone of Kathmandu-Kerung Railway Project. The government is also expanding road networks across the country, he added.
Prime Minister Oli also said that the government will increase the social security allowance it has been providing to the senior citizens and other marginalized community in the coming budget.
