KMC seeks cooperation from residents of Sisdole in waste management

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has requested the local residents of the Sisdole area to cooperate in managing waste materials.

Issuing a press statement, the Environment Department of KMC made such an appeal to the local residents after the frequent disruption in waste management at the landfill site from the local residents.

Recently, the locals had disrupted the waste management from the Kathmandu Valley on March 26.

The KMC has been working by coordinating with the Ministry of Education and Science Technology to address the demands of local people, Department’s Chief Hari Kumar Shrestha said in the press statement.

Similarly, the Department has asked one and all to classify the wastes in the sources itself as the situation was not favorable for wastes management in the Sisdole site.

The people in the affected areas have obstructed the waste management from putting forth their demands related to education including teacher’s quota, free education up to second level, and others.
