Prachanda-Nepal faction staging mass demonstration in Dhangadhi today



KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is staging a huge mass demonstration against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) in Dhangadhi of Kailali district.

Thousands of cadres of the disgruntled faction will gather at the open ground in Dhangadhi at 1 pm, said leader Bhim Rawal, the Sudurpaschim in-charge of the NCP.

Top-notch leaders including NCP chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior leader Madhav Nepal will address the mass meeting.

Leaders including Bhim Rawal have been in Kailai since the last few days for the preparation of the mass meeting. Earlier, the Oli faction had staged a mass meeting on January 8.

Prior to the mass meeting, a huge rally will begin from Chauraha and Campus Road, according to Rawal. Meanwhile, security has been tightened in and around Dhangadhi area in view of the mass demonstration.

On the eve of the protest rally, a motorcycle rally had been organized place on Friday evening.

The faction had staged a demonstration in Biratnagar on Friday and in Butwal on Thursday in a show of strength against the Oli-led government.
