Delegates urge Maoist Center CCM to send children to government schools



KATHMANDU: At the ongoing Eighth General Convention of the CPN-Maoist Center, delegates have proposed that central committee members (CCM) and officials of the party should send their children to public schools.

Submitting their written feedback on the political dossier of party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and party statute amendment draft of leader Dev Gurung, the delegates of Gandaki province urged the leaders to stop sending their children to private schools.

Delegates of Group 10 comprising leaders from Gandaki province, demanded that scientific education policy should be adopted at the earliest and party leaders should send their children to public community schools.

Panel leaders of 25 panels formed to discuss on political and organizational road-map proposed for the party, are presenting their conclusion to the closed session of on the fourth day of the Convention on Wednesday.

Prachanda’s political report and Gurung’s draft legislation were discussed in 25 different groups on Tuesday.

The eighth general convention, which started last Sunday, will select a 299-member central working committee with 15 office bearers.
