Woman gang-raped in New Bus Park; eight arrested



KATHMANDU: A 34-year-old woman has been gang-raped in Kathmandu’s New Bus Park.

According to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kathmandu, a woman was gang-raped at a hotel Tuesday night.

Police have arrested eight people from different parts of Kathmandu on charges of raping a woman.

According to Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali, the accused were arrested from different places in Kathmandu on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

One person involved in the rape is absconding, police said.

“Police were mobilized on the basis of information that a woman had been taken to a guest house in the bus park and raped,” according to the police.

The woman’s health has been tested and her health is normal.
