UML increases number of General Convention delegates to 1,999

General Convention delegates to be finalized on Nov 13



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has increased the number of delegates participating in the upcoming 10th General Convention.

The Central Committee (CC) meeting held Friday increased the number of General Convention delegates to 1,999.

Earlier on Thursday, the Standing Committee (SC) had proposed 1,536 delegates for the convention. The number was increased by CC after leaders called for increasing the number of delegates today.

Likewise, the CC meeting also decided to select General Convention delegates on November 13.

The party also approved use of electronic voting machine for the General Convention. UML Spokesperson and Secretary Pradip Gyawali said CC members also tried their hands on the electronic voting machine before the CC meeting today.
