Nepal-India Friendship Bus Service resumes



KATHMANDU: The Nepal-India Friendship Bus Service has been resumed from today after 20 months.

The bus service, operated from Mahendranagar of Kanchanpur, was closed due to coronavirus infection, said Chairperson of Mahakali Transport Pvt Ltd, Dambar Panta.

Similarly, a bus belonging to Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation has arrived Mahendranagar this morning from New Delhi with passengers.

Panta said, “The bus entered Nepal by fulfilling all health safety protocols determined by the Government of Nepal.”
He urged passengers travelling in public vehicles to use health safety materials including mask to be protected from coronavirus infection.

Those entering Nepal via Gaddachauki check point from Indian vehicles have to show vaccination card and coronavirus report of recent 72 hours to the local administration.

According to the Mahakali Transport Pvt Ltd, Nepal-India Friendship Bus Service would be operated from Mahendranagar every day.

Nine buses were in operation from Mahendranagar to Delhi and Dehradun of India every day before the coronavirus pandemic.
