There is no use of running House if UML’s obstruction continues: Maoist Center

KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center has said that there is no point in holding the parliament session amidst the continuous obstruction from main opposition CPN-UML.

After today’s standing committee meeting, Maoist Center Chief Whip Dev Gurung said that the Prime Minister should convene an all-party meeting and move ahead with the parliament after reaching an agreement with the CPN-UML.

“The CPN (UML) is obstructing the House. The government should open the house by holding talks with the opposition. For that, the Prime Minister has to convene an all-party meeting,” he said, adding, “If the opposition continues to block, there is no point in running the parliament anymore.”

Similarly, he said that the party would select the minister after discussions among the parties in the alliance.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has convened the ruling alliance meeting on Thursday.
