Bhaktapur hospital offers free treatment for Alzheimer’s disease

BHAKTAPUR: Bhaktapur Hospital has offered free treatment for Alzheimer’s disease amidst reports that patients with the disease have increased due to fears caused by ongoing COVID-19.

The hospital received an increasing number of patients with the disease caused in most cases due to fears and anxiety by the infection, said the hospital medical superintendent Dr Sumitra Gautam. “So we started free treatment,” she said.

The service is available from 9:00am to 2:00pm every day. Specialists are available on Wednesday from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The hospital has also offered a post-COVID-19 unit wherein people suffering from problems post infection get treatment.
