CM Raut reshuffles cabinet

Planning to include Unified Socialist ministers in the cabinet

KATHMANDU: Province 2 Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut has reshuffled his cabinet on Sunday changing the portfolio of two ministers.

Chief Minister Raut reshuffled the responsibilities of Finance Minister and Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Raut has given the responsibility of the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives to former Finance Minister Vijay Kumar Yadav and the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance to Shailendra Sah, the former Minister of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives and Land Management.

The reason for the reshuffle has not been disclosed.

Yadav, despite belonging to the same party as CM Raut, has been expressing his interest in becoming CM at the earliest.

Raut had restructured the Ministries by increasing the number of them from six to 10.  There are four ministries for ruling Janata Samajbadi Party, three for Nepali Congress and one for CPN-Maoist Center. CM Raut has two ministries under him.

The source claimed CM Raut is trying to appease CPN-Unified Socialist by giving it the ministries including the Finance Ministry.
