EC asks people’s representatives to decide their party by September 7



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has notified the elected representatives in the CPN-UML and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) to decide which party to choose by September 7.

Citing that new parties CPN-Unified Socialist and Democratic Socialist Party have been formed from the official split of UML and JSP respectively, EC has given the September 7 deadline for the lawmakers to chose the party of their interest.

Earlier, the EC had issued certificates to the newly registered political parties –  Unified Socialist and DSP on Wednesday.
