CPN Unified Socialist will not merge with anyone: Chair Nepal

KATHMANDU: CPN Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has clarified there won’t be any merger of the newly-formed party with other political parties.

Addressing a parliamentary party (PP) meeting held Sunday, Chair Nepal said, “We are not in favor of merger and unity with anyone right now. We will expand our organization to the grassroots. We will protect the post of people’s representative from central to provincial to local levels.”

He blamed UML Chari KP Oli for the failure of unity efforts. “We stood for unity but our efforts failed due to Oli’s attitude,” he said. Nepal accused KP Oli of tainting the character of communists. He also complained those who had pushed him forward had betrayed him at the last moment.

He remarked Oli insulted everyone, wasn’t honest and deceived every one. Unified Socialist Chair Nepal said that he stood up and defended the people and the country as Oli had taken steps against the constitution and democracy.
